Meet fifty remarkable people whose courage, character, and compassion give boys the real-life heroes and positive role models they need.

2020 Maxy Awards Children's Book Finalist

In 50 Real Heroes for Boys, young readers meet extraordinary people from across history who used courage, compassion, curiosity, and perseverance to shape the world around them. From scientists and explorers to artists, athletes, and everyday citizens who chose integrity when it mattered most, these stories reveal that heroism comes in many forms.

Each short, engaging biography highlights a powerful trait—called a “Special Power”—that helped these individuals overcome obstacles and make a difference. Along the way, readers encounter inspiring figures such as Harriet Tubman, Jackie Robinson, Fred Rogers, Jane Goodall, Malala Yousafzai, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and many more.

Each story ends with a “You Can Be a Hero” section that encourages kids to try small actions that reflect the same heroic qualities.
