JEN HOBBS is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s MFA program. She’s the author of American Hemp: How Growing Our Newest Cash Crop Can Improve Our Health, Clean Our Environment, and Slow Climate Change and the coauthor of Jesse Ventura’s Marijuana Manifesto. This is her first cookbook, but the kitchen isn’t the only place she’s dabbled in cannabis-infused edibles. She’s also experienced some of the most popular munchies in cannabis culture, ranging from Amsterdam coffeehouse space-cakes to Colorado dispensary exclusives such as Snoop Dogg’s THC-infused gourmet chocolate bars. Prior to the legalization of recreational marijuana in California, her family owned and operated a medical marijuana collective in Shasta County. Once hemp was federally legalized, her family founded Nature’s Nectar, a CBD extraction facility specializing in producing CBD Full-Spectrum Shatter sourced from organic hemp farms. In 2019 they also opened The Hive, a local CBD store in O’Fallon. She now resides in O’Fallon, Missouri, with her husband, Andrew, and daughter, McKayla.
